Did someone say heatwave? Bring your pup to sup this week!
21 July 2021
Doggy paddle(boards) available for a limited time only to help keep canines cool in excessive heat
With the Met Office issuing its first ever extreme heat warning this week and the nation basking in some glorious sunshine, we are officially welcoming dogs to join us at North Yorkshire Water Park!
The RSPCA has been providing advice with ways to protect the nation’s much-loved pets during the summer heatwave – especially dogs, as they are more likely to suffer with heatstroke due to exertion.
Looking after dogs in a heatwave
- Walks during the day have been advised against – going out in the early morning or late evening will mean the weather is cooler.
- Avoid pavements – they can get too hot for paws!
- Always ensure your dog has access to shade and water throughout the day
So, for a limited time only, dogs can join their owners who are taking part in stand-up paddle boarding (or SUPs) in order for them to cool off and enjoy the outdoors in our picturesque surroundings of the Wykeham Lakes.
Not only that, but any paddling pups enjoying the SUPs this weekend will also get to enjoy a complimentary doggy ice cream at our brand-new Café @ North Yorkshire Water Park for a refreshing treat.
The offer is open to all customers on Thursday 22nd and Friday 23rd July only. Book now to avoid disappointment!
